Book Blog

So I've got this new idea that it would be fun for different people to exchange ideas regarding books. Sort-of like an online book club.....
I thought it would be fun for people to review what they read and people could comment on it and post what they are reading. It would be a fun way for people to find about books they may have never thought about reading. Will anyone join me on this adventure?

I'mmmmmmm baaaaack

For a long time I have left my blog alone and forgotten about it. I am not comfortable with the idea of what I write being out there for everyone to see. I am a fairly private person and figure those who now me can call me if they want to know what's going on with my life. BUT, as this blog is linked to the library blog-I figure I should at least keep it updated.
I am very excited about all the things going on at the library. Now is the time where we at the library start lining funding, programming, events and such for summer reading and story hours.
This year's theme is "Make a Splash: READ" which is a very fun and easily workable theme. I am excited for all the ideas and events. We have thus far sent out requests for donations, lined up a dunk tank-yes, a dunk tank, and began to think about and plan some of the programs. Ideas are brewing. This is the part of my job that I love. So come in and check out what the library has to offer.

Using what I have learned

I have used my facebook page as a way to get out some info about library programing. I posted a note to all my homeschool friends about a new science based story hour. It did not generate more participation but it was the easiest and fastest way to get the info out. I would not have done this if it were not for 23things, because I would not have a facebook. I feel like our library is really integrating the things we learned into our everyday operations. The web is by far the easiest and most convenient way to reach out to people, and it is nice because they can read the info on thier time. I keep thinking life will slow down and I will go back and do some of the 23things better, more to my liking, but that hasn't happened thus far. Maybe after Christmas.
